- Was Jesus Nice? Exploring the Sides of Our Savior No One Talks About
I hope the title made you raise an eyebrow—and maybe even whisper, “Wait… what?” That’s exactly the point. Here’s the truth: many of us only know the “sweet Jesus” version we’ve heard about in Sunday school, sermons, or from family. You know the one—always smiling, soft-spoken, carrying lambs, gently knocking on doors. And listen… that is Jesus. He’s full of love, mercy, compassion, and unmatched kindness. But if that’s the only version of Jesus you know, then you’re missing out on the fullness of who He is. Imagine saying you know your best friend, but you’ve only seen them happy—you’ve never seen them sad, upset, protective, or serious. That would be a shallow relationship, right? The same goes for our relationship with Jesus. If we only accept the parts of Him that make us comfortable, we’ll miss out on knowing Him truly and deeply. So today, let’s open our Bibles, our hearts, and our minds—and explore the other sides of Jesus—the ones we don’t often hear about in Sunday sermons, but the ones we need to know if we’re going to walk in truth. The Side of Jesus You May Not Know 1. Obedient Even Unto Death Let’s start with something that doesn’t get enough attention—Jesus’ obedience. Jesus didn’t live to please people. Jesus wasn’t just out here doing miracles for clout. His whole mission was obedience to the Father He lived to do the Father’s will, no matter what. In John 5:19, He says, “The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do.” And in the garden of Gethsemane, facing unimaginable agony, He prayed: “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours be done.” (Luke 22:42) That moment right there… it shows us that obedience to God isn’t always easy —it’s sacrificial. Jesus wasn’t led by feelings—He was led by purpose. He obeyed God’s will even when His soul was sorrowful unto death. Jesus modeled obedience, not just when it was easy, but when it was excruciating. How many of us are willing to obey God even when it costs us comfort approval, or acceptance ? 2. Angry—With Righteous Purpose Yup, Jesus got angry. Not the petty road-rage type—but righteous anger rooted in reverence for the Father’s house. In Matthew 21:12–13, Jesus walks into the temple and flips tables. Why? Because the temple was supposed to be a place of worship and prayer—but it had turned into a business. People traveled from all over to worship and offer sacrifices at the temple, just as the Law of Moses required. Some came from long distances, and along the way, their animals—meant for sacrifice—could die, get injured, or be stolen. To help with this, the temple introduced a system: people could buy animals for sacrifice when they arrived. But here’s the catch—they had to use the temple’s own currency, so money changers were set up to exchange Roman coins for temple shekels. Sounds helpful, right? At first, it was. But then it got corrupt. What was meant to serve worship became a system of extortion. It stopped being about honoring God—and started being about making money in God’s name. Jesus wasn’t having it. “My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.” This was righteous anger. Jesus saw injustice, hypocrisy, and greed corrupting the sacred. He didn’t just walk away offended—He took holy action. Let’s learn from how Jesus handled that emotion. He expressed it, addressed it, and didn’t harbor it. That’s key. Emotions aren’t sinful—it’s what we do with them that matters. Someone once said: “Sadness can lead to joy if processed well… or to depression if neglected.” We must be a people who process our emotions well. 3. Confrontational—In Truth Let’s be real—many people have been taught that confrontation is unkind. But Jesus confronted lies, hypocrisy, and deception head-on—because He loved people too much to let them stay in spiritual blindness or error. He wasn’t afraid to call out the Pharisees publicly. In Matthew 23, He went in: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! … You blind guides … You cleanse the outside of the cup but inside you are full of extortion and self-indulgence … Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?” Y’all. He called them whitewashed tombs—pretty on the outside but full of death on the inside. Jesus wasn’t holding back. And let’s not forget—these were one of the most influential people in society. To confront them publicly was bold and controversial in every way. And He didn’t stop there. Jesus rebuked entire cities—like Chorazin and Bethsaida—where He had performed miracles, yet the people refused to repent (Matthew 11:21–24). He said it would be more tolerable for Sodom than for them. That’s deep. Even Peter, His beloved disciple, wasn’t spared. When Peter tried to stop Jesus from talking about His coming death, Jesus said: “Get behind me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” (Matthew 16:23) Jesus didn’t play favorites. He corrected the proud Pharisees and His closest friends / his beloved disciple alike. Why? Because anything that stood in the way of God’s will had to be confronted. He stood on truth—every time, with everyone. 4. Frustrated—Yes, Even With His Disciples Jesus? Frustrated? Yup. There were moments when His disciples just weren’t getting it, and you can hear the exasperation in His words. In Matthew 16:7–11, Jesus warns the disciples about the leaven of the Pharisees (symbolic of their hypocrisy). But the disciples start whispering, “Oh no… is it because we forgot the bread?” Jesus responds: “O you of little faith… Do you not understand or remember the five loaves for the five thousand… How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?” Jesus was sharing an important lesson, but his disciples thought it was about bread (food). He wasn’t mad, but He was disappointed. That exasperated teacher energy? Jesus had it. But His frustration wasn’t rooted in impatience—it came from a desire for His followers to grow and understand the deeper things of God. 5. Controversial—And Unapologetically So Oh yes, let’s go there. Jesus wasn’t always agreeable, especially not to the status quo. Let’s talk about one of the most shocking statements Jesus ever made. “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” (Matthew 10:34) Wait—what happened to Prince of Peace?! Jesus came to divide? Jesus wasn’t contradicting Himself. He was showing us that truth divides. When you follow Jesus, it may cause tension with friends, family, and culture. He said: “I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother… A person’s enemies will be members of their own household.” This isn’t about Jesus causing division for fun. It’s about truth that will naturally divide those who accept it and those who reject it. He was preparing His followers to stand for truth, even when it costs them relationships. Jesus didn’t come to blend in—He came to separate light from darkness. Even now, His teachings are considered “radical.” But guess what? Truth has always been controversial. I’ll be honest—I’m still digesting this one. But I know this: following Jesus isn’t always peaceful in the world’s eyes. It requires a bold, countercultural commitment that often leads to friction. And Jesus told us that upfront. So… was Jesus a nice guy? If by “nice,” you mean soft, passive, people-pleasing, or avoiding conflict. or agreeable at all costs—absolutely not. Jesus wasn’t “nice.” He was compassionate, honest, gracious, righteous, holy, obedient, confrontational when needed, and loving all at once. He was (and is) the perfect balance of grace and truth. He flipped tables. He rebuked religious leaders. He called out spiritual immaturity. He stood on truth—even when it caused offense. And He did it all from a place of love. Final Thoughts: Know the Fullness of Jesus Here’s the truth, fam: If we don’t study the Word, we’ll only know a partial Jesus. And partial understanding leads to shallow faith. We’ll get offended when He corrects us, confused when He convicts us, and distant when He doesn’t fit the picture we’ve painted in our minds. “Those whom the Lord loves, He chastens.” —Hebrews 12:6 Many believers are stuck in lukewarm Christianity because they’ve built their faith on one-dimensional Jesus. But He is multidimensional. He is: The Lamb and the Lion The Shepherd and the Judge The servant and the King The more we know Him, the better we walk with Him. Don’t settle for a surface-level relationship. Dive deep. Study the Word. Ask hard questions. Wrestle with the text. And encounter the fullness of your King. Let’s fall in love with every part of who He is. Let’s pursue all of Him—not just the parts that feel good. Let’s know Him for real. 🎵 MUSIC TIME🎵 New Leaf ABXL, Living Testimony, CWIN — Straight from Our British Brothers and Sisters! - Part 2: The Hypocritical Believer: You Need to Grow Now: Perspective & Showing Up Anyway
Previously on Part 1... We got real. Real about how easy it is to talk the talk but not walk the walk. We exposed the hypocrisy that creeps in when we claim God with our lips but ghost Him with our lives. I shared how I was more disciplined in the gym than in my walk with Jesus—ouch, right? But it was true. So, I had to rededicate my life again, not because I didn’t know God, but because I wasn’t surrendered. I let idols take His place and treated my relationship with Him like a part-time job. But Jesus isn’t looking for weekend lovers. He’s after full-time followers. Part 1 was all about realizing that true discipline is less about striving and more about surrender. That the problem isn’t always our situation—it’s our perspective. And now, in Part 2, we’re going deeper into what it means to stay faithful, even when it feels dry, slow, or silent. The Perspective Shift: Seeing Through God’s Lens Here’s the truth: Sometimes, the problem isn’t the situation—it’s the lens we’re looking through. We think God’s ignoring us. But what if the issue isn’t God’s silence—but our perspective? I was chasing my desire… God was chasing my heart. I prayed and fasted, thinking I was being persistent. Truthfully? I was just being stubborn. I wanted God to change my situation, but God wanted to change me. We want the promise—without the pruning. But God's priority is not only the blessing—it’s our character. Without His grace, we misinterpret everything: Delay feels like denial. Pruning feels like punishment. Waiting feels like wasting time. Sometimes the biggest battle isn’t what we’re facing… It’s how we see it. Why God Takes His Time God could bless you in a second. But forming Christlike character in you? That takes time. It takes time to build a man or woman who can carry that blessing. Had God answered me right away, I wouldn’t have: Grown in discipline Learned to hear His voice Developed spiritual maturity. Become spiritually mature enough to sustain the blessing. Instead of chasing the blessing, I started chasing Him . And my desires? They changed. My mindset, friendships, and habits transformed. I wasn’t just talking about being a Christian— I was becoming one. Nawa For This Process SHA The Invisible Growth: The Power of Incremental Growth We want sudden breakthroughs and blessings but God works in the process! Some days I opened my Bible and felt nothing. Some days I prayed and it felt like I was talking to a wall. But looking back? God was working—deeply. Quietly. Powerfully. Growth was always happening—it just wasn’t visible yet. Think of a plant. You water it daily, nothing happens… Then one day—boom—growth bursts forth. Growth was always happening—it just wasn’t visible yet. That’s your walk with God. Little by little, he's adding, refining, shaping and stretching. That’s how God works. 5% growth here. 10% there. Before you know it, you’ve transformed. Consistency: The Secret Sauce Hard truth?Your relationship with God is a commitment. You seek Him when you’re happy. You seek Him when you're hurting. You seek Him when you're confused. You seek Him even when you feel nothing You seek him when you don’t feel like it. Like a marriage—you don't quit because you're having a bad day & certainly you don’t quit when it gets hard. By God’s grace, I’ve shown up daily for 2+ years. Not always strong, but always present. When it made no sense, I showed up. When I got the bonus check, I showed up. When I was weary, joyful, or broken—I showed up. Shown up even when the biggest desire of my heart still hasn’t happened. And I’m still showing up. Still surrendered. Still Faithful Because if you don’t discipline yourself in your walk with God, it will fade. It must be nurtured. My Challenge to You If you don’t already have one, start a daily sacred time with God. Call it covenant time. Secret place. Devotion hour. Whatever you want—just show up and commit. Even when it feels dry. Even when you're discouraged. The seeds you sow will bloom in due season. “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap…” – Galatians 6:9 Don’t just chase the gift or the blessings—be transformed by the Giver. Pray for character. Pray to bear the fruits of the Spirit: Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-control. Because the greatest reward isn’t what God gives—it’s who you become in Him. Keep watering. Keep showing up. Keep growing. The harvest is coming. 🎼 MUSIC TIME 🎵 Let me bless your ears and your spirit today: 🎬 Movie: The Forge I couldn’t stop crying. I watched it with a friend—now a sister. - The Spirit of Jezebel Is Oppressing Our Men: It’s Time to Raise Up Kingdom Men!
I believe this is a now word from the Lord. A wake-up call. One we can’t afford to hit snooze on. Because the spirit of Jezebel is running rampant—and while it’s oppressing many, today we’re zeroing in on the ones carrying the weight of legacy: our men . The Jezebel spirit wears many masks—control, manipulation, false prophecy—but in this message, we’re spotlighting her seductive grip through sexual immorality, lust, and seduction . Let’s talk about it. Jezebel is not just a name from the Old Testament; it’s a spirit still wrecking homes, polluting destinies, and weakening the backbone of families today. Jezebel: Queen of Seduction We know the name Jezebel from Scripture. She was the wife of King Ahab (1 Kings 16:31), a manipulative, seductive force that turned hearts away from God. Her name carries a spirit that still operates today, one rooted in lust, seduction, and sexual immorality. She was—and still is—a master of pulling people out of purpose through the backdoor of pleasure. Revelation 2:20-22 (NKJV) “Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality…And I gave her time to repent…but she did not…” This spirit seduces —it doesn’t come screaming; it comes whispering sweet nothings. It lures men into a life where compromise becomes comfort. The Root of the Fall: Sexual Immorality Attack the Man, Collapse the Home Let’s call it what it is—sexual immorality, lust, adultery, fornication, and pornography have become the silent destroyers of destinies. It’s not a new trick, but it’s still wildly effective. Why? Because it hits at the core of a man’s design: his identity as leader, protector, and priest of his home. The enemy knows: if he can destroy the man, he can destroy the family : a family is only as strong as its head . So he aims straight for the man. Take him out, and the whole family structure starts to crumble. It’s strategic. The man sets the foundation of his home . And if the foundation is faulty—well, Scripture says it best: Psalm 11:3 (NKJV) “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” You can be a good man or woman, a gifted man or woman , a godly-sounding man or woman —but if your foundation is cracked, the enemy will exploit it. Heredity and generational patterns matter. You are only as strong as what you’re standing on. The enemy targets men through lust. Why? Because lust gratifies the flesh and strangles the spirit . It weakens their discernment, dulls their authority, and compromises their calling. He wants men broken from the inside out— grown in body but boys in spirit , trying to lead with fractured souls. When Men Leave Their Posts: They Fall—And Their Families Too We’ve established the fact that the enemy is after our men. He’s baiting them with lust, drawing them into secret sins, and making compromise look normal. “It’s just porn.” “All men cheat eventually.” “As long as I don’t get caught, I’m good.” No, king. You’re not good—you’re bound. And the cost is too high. WHEN men fall, homes fall. When men compromise, generations suffer. When men live in the flesh, they forfeit their spiritual authority. And what happens? Women are forced into roles they were never designed to carry alone. Mothers trying to be fathers. Women forgetting what it means to be soft and simply be a woman because they always have to be strong . They’re always fighting. Always bracing. Because the one who was meant to cover them is missing in action . Women playing the role of a man; It’s like trying to force your left foot into a right shoe—it doesn’t fit, and it never will. Wearing both the mother AND father hat… and Women are Tired. Stretched. Overwhelmed. This wasn’t God’ s blueprint. We weren’t made to carry it all. Lord, raise up the Kingdom men—we’re exhausted. #ThisAintIt #GodRestoreTheOrder Yet, society tries to normalize this stigma for women accepting this ungodly pattern . We hear women make comments like: “As long as he cheats and I don’t know, I’m fine.” Sis, I reject that for you in Jesus’ name. That’s not love. That’s not God’s best. You were never meant to settle for less than a man who loves, honors, and protects you—just like Christ loves the church. Don’t settle for LESS QUEEN! But Here’s the Good News: A New Era KINGDOM MEN ARAISING Listen to me clearly: The tide is turning. The enemy may have had his moment, but he doesn’t get the final say. The enemy’s playbook is old, but God is raising up new men— Kingdom Men A new breed of men are rising. Men who won’t compromise . Men who fear the Lord . Men who walk in holiness and truth . Men who aren’t ruled by their flesh but led by the Spirit. Men who don’t bow to culture but stand firm in godly conviction. KINGDOM MEN LET'S GO! We will soon see homes restored, marriages healed, and families rebuilt— God’s way . Men will stand as pillars of righteousness , taking their rightful place as spiritual heads with their eyes fixed on Jesus. Not perfect men, but surrendered men. Ladies: Stand in the Gap: Let’s Intercede Ladies, whether you’re married, single, engaged, or waiting—we have work to do. Let’s stand in the gap. Let’s pray, intercede, cry out for the men in our lives—fathers, brothers, cousins, husbands, sons. The devil is hunting them, but we can stand as watch-women on the wall. Let’s not just complain about the lack of good men—let’s pray them into their purpose. Let’s rebuke the spirit of Jezebel off of their lives. Let’s declare that they will walk in holiness, truth, and love. PRAYER IS THE KEY 🔑 The Era of Kingdom Men Is Here Yes, it’s here. And it’s here to stay. • We will see godly men restored. • We will see families and marriages healed. • We will see the blueprint of God’s principles honored again. I’m excited. Can you feel it too? Fathers returning. Sons awakened. The home restructured— God’s way . The spirit of Jezebel won’t win. The devil won’t get our men. Raise Up, Kingdom Men. Your Light Has Come. We need you. - Character Over The Gift or The Blessing: Why Christlikeness Is Greater Than Any Gift or Blessing
Let’s go ahead and jump into another not-so-popular topic. One that doesn’t get much applause in this blessing-chasing, highlight-reel, “look what I got” kind of culture we live in. Character vs. the Gift. Character vs. the Blessing. Yep. We’re going there. Yeah, I know—we love a good testimony, a good “God just blessed me with…” moment. We live in a world where people are more obsessed with getting something from God than becoming someone like Christ. We want the hand of God without seeking His heart. We want the gift but don’t want to be groomed. We’ll run laps for a blessing but won’t sit still long enough for God to prune our character. We want the miracle, but not the molding. ME - I want soft life - God - You need to be PRUNED But here’s the raw truth: God is more interested in building your character than handing you a blessing. Disclaimer: Your purpose on earth isn’t to be rich, popular, or collect blessings like trophies—it’s to look more like Christ. He is the blueprint . The model. The standard. (Side note: That’s why we read our Bibles—because you can’t walk like Jesus if you don’t know how He walked.) Jesus Was All About Character: He Cares More About Who You’re Becoming Than What You’re Receiving When you study the life and teachings of Jesus, you’ll notice something: He was all about character development. He called out the Pharisees—not because they lacked knowledge or power—but because their character was trash. Jesus wasn’t impressed by their public displays or religious routines. They knew scripture, performed religious duties, but their hearts? Far from God. They loved the platform more than the posture of humility. Sound familiar? Coughs** You? Are You Shading US AGAIN ? Fruits Over Flesh: The Holy Spirit’s Blueprint Paul didn’t just drop the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23 for poetic flair—these are God’s character goals for us: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” These aren’t just feel-good virtues. These are characters we must imitate . These are Christ-like qualities God is actively trying to grow in us. Love , for example, isn’t just a feeling. If you love your spouse, you don’t just follow the “rules” of marriage—you delight in honoring them. It flows naturally, not legalistically. Same with God. When love is at the core, obedience isn’t a burden. It’s joy. The Two Most Important Commandments! You Can Get the Blessing—But Can You Keep It? Blessings Without Character? Dangerous. Here’s the hard truth: God can bless you with a gift, but if your character isn’t built to sustain it—you’ll lose it. Let’s get practical. Say God blesses you with a marriage. That’s beautiful. But if you haven’t developed love, patience, kindness, gentleness, self-control —guess what? that blessing can turn into a battleground real quick. You might sabotage that very blessing. A lot of people walk into marriage with unpruned character , and a mouth that always has to have the last word. That’s not spicy—that’s immaturity. We see pettiness worn like a badge of honor , when it’s really a flashing sign of the flesh. Petty pride leads to pointless fights. We need to stop celebrating dysfunction and start praying for transformation. God uses marriage, friendships, and community to prune us—teaching us self-control, mercy, and how to love like Him. Pettiness isn’t a personality trait to wear like a crown—it’s a work of the flesh, and it gives more glory to the enemy than it ever will to God. The Beatitudes: Christlike Character Leads To Rewards Jesus laid out heaven’s value system loud and clear in Matthew 5: Blessed are the meek , for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness , for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful , for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart , for they will see God. Translation: Godly character leads to reward. It may not always be financial, flashy or come with a cash prize. Sometimes it’s not tangible—but it’s always transformational. Godly character brings rewards in the following ways . Influence: “ Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?… You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders.” Genesis 41:38-40 Eternity: “Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.” Rev 2:10 Favor. “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.” Proverbs 3:3-4 Grace: “Therefore He says: ‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6 Legacy : “A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold “Proverbs 22:1 Love > Gifts (Every Time) Paul drops the mic in 1 Corinthians 13: “If I speak in the tongues of men or angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong… If I have prophetic powers, understand mysteries, have mountain-moving faith, but have not love—I am nothing .” Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Your gift can wow a crowd, but love , the root of godly character, impresses heaven. You can be gifted. You can be anointed. You can be “called.” But without godly character—without love—you’re just noise. Gifts can impress, but character sustains. Why Character Before The Gift or Blessing Listen, I’m not saying God doesn’t want to bless you—He absolutely does. But He loves you too much to let the blessing come before the building. A blessing without the character to carry it is a setup for self-destruction. You can be “successful” in the eyes of the world and still be spiritually bankrupt. We’ve got people with massive platforms, booming businesses, and viral moments who are spiritually empty. They’ve got the gift, but no godly character to keep it. But a person molded in the image of Christ? Now that’s gold refined by fire. Success in God’s Kingdom isn’t measured by followers, finances, or fame. True success = Becoming more like Jesus. That’s why He said in Matthew 6:33, “ Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. ” The Takeaway God loves you too much to just hand you blessings without first building you for them. He’s not being mean. He’s being loving . He’s preparing you not just to receive—but to sustain , steward, and reflect His glory in every blessing He places in your life. So stop chasing gifts. Stop idolizing blessings. And start praying: “Lord, prune my heart. Shape my character. Make me more like You.” Because when you start looking like Christ, everything else will follow . Final Word: At the end of the day, your greatest success is not what you gained—but who you became. Your character is what makes you golden in heaven’s eyes. - Fans of Jesus, Strangers to His Word
Today’s blog's spotlight: Fans of Jesus, Strangers to His Word —Because cheering from the pews isn’t the same as walking in truth. YIKES! For a lot of us, faith was handed down like grandma’s secret recipe—but somewhere along the line, the ingredients got switched. A pinch of tradition, a dash of routine, a heaping scoop of “just go to church and be good.” Problem is… that’s not the gospel. That’s cultural Christianity. Somewhere along the way, we stopped teaching people how to seek God for themselves. We’ve confused attendance with intimacy. We’ve swapped devotion for tradition. We’ve settled for a watered-down version of faith—one that shows up on Sundays but stays silent the rest of the week. We grew up thinking strong faith looked like showing up to church, dressing nice, singing loud. But God’s not checking attendance—He’s searching hearts. Hearts fully His. Hearts that walk with Him daily. Many of us inherited a faith built more on tradition than God’s word. It sounded spiritual, but it wasn’t always biblical. Let’s just keep it real—some of our parents never read the Bible cover to cover. Not because they didn’t want to love God, but maybe because no one really showed them how to walk with Him daily, intimately, and personally.. They were handed a watered-down version of Christianity, one that was more about following men than truly knowing God . So how could they pass on a deep understanding of the Word of God when they barely got to read it for themselves? Most of what they knew came secondhand—from sermons and “men of God,” not from sitting at the feet of Jesus with an open Bible. You can’t pass on what you’ve never consumed. So what did they pass down? A generation that knows church culture—but not Christ. We quote pastors more than we quote the word of God. We seek men of God before we seek God. We listen to devotionals but won’t open and read the actual Bible (the pattern of depending on other people to give us the word). Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments.” But how can we keep what we’ve never read? How can we obey what we don’t even understand? The truth : we can’t follow what we don’t know, and we won’t know what we don’t read . ( no pun intended). We’ve subcontracted our relationship with God to the church. But church was never meant to carry what only you can cultivate— daily, intimate and personal relationship with God. It’s time to check what we’ve been carrying. Are we holding onto God’s word—or just traditions dressed up as God’s word? Real revival? It usually doesn’t start on a stage. It starts in the secret place. In your living room. In your car. In your midnight prayers. It’s time to stop recycling religion and start walking with God for real. You don’t have to stay in the cycle. Break it. Be the one who flips the script. Be the one who studies Scripture for yourself —not just listens to what others say about God. Be the one who walks in obedience , even when it’s costly—not just follows traditions or routines. Be the one who lives the Word of God , not just posts it. Be the one who knows God intimately , not just knows about Him from sermons and reels. Be the one who refuses empty religion and chooses authentic relationship. Let us rise as the generation that awakens the next—training our children not in shallow religion, but in deep, burning intimacy with the Living God. May we raise up lovers of Christ, not just churchgoers—disciples who chase His heart, not just His hand. - Stop Dating the World: It’s Time to Go All In for God!
Let’s be real for a moment: how often do we proudly wear the label “Christian” but live like the world holds the deed to our soul? Fornicating here, porn addiction there, a little cheating, lying, unforgiveness, envy—oh yeah, I went there early. Don’t act like you can’t relate. For years, I lived in that messy middle ground—wanting to follow God but still holding hands with the world. Sound familiar? Then came 2023—a year I’ll never forget. A life-altering event shook me to my core, forcing me to confront the truth about my faith and where my heart truly belonged. It was raw, messy, and painful, but it led me to discover what it really means to live for God. Ready to unpack this? Let’s dive in. For many of us, faith has been handed down like a family recipe. For a long time, we’ve equated strong faith with showing up to church. But God’s not looking for seat-fillers—He’s after hearts fully devoted to Him, hearts that worship Him daily, not just on Sundays. Here’s the thing: for many of us, the faith we grew up with wasn’t always rooted in Scripture. It was shaped by tradition, culture, and routines passed down from our parents—the very things they inherited. And while some of it was well-meaning, a lot of it leaned more on rituals than on the truth of God’s Word. The Bible tells us to “seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Parents weren't always teaching their children how to seek and walk closely with God each day. Attending church services and praying with spiritual leaders took precedence over fostering deep, daily intimacy with God. This has led many to seek guidance from others before they seek God Himself. Now, God certainly places mentors and resources in our path, but our primary calling is to know Him personally. In many cases, our parents passed down a faith system that leaned heavily on tradition, not necessarily on true discipleship or direct engagement with Scripture. They only knew the Word of God through the interpretations of others, often missing the power of personally studying the Bible. Many from their generation never read the Bible in its entirety—a vital step for every believer. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). Think about that for a second—how can we truly say we love Jesus if we don’t even know what He’s asking of us? His Word is where we find His commandments, His heart, His truth. Yet let’s be real—how often do we actually open our Bibles? We can’t follow what we don’t understand, and we can’t understand what we don’t read. Too often, we skip the Word and rely on secondhand knowledge from others. Our parents did what they knew, but here’s where we’ve missed the mark: too often, we’ve subcontracted our spiritual growth to the church while neglecting our daily walk with God. Sure, church is vital—it’s where we gather, worship, and grow in community. But it’s not a replacement for personal intimacy with Jesus. It’s time to do some heart work. Let’s take a good, honest look at what we’ve been holding onto—traditions, habits, or mindsets—and ask: Do these align with God’s Word, or have we just been following what we were handed? Too often, we stick to patterns of faith without stopping to examine if they actually reflect Scripture. But here’s the good news: we don’t have to stay stuck in “that’s just how it’s always been.” Let’s be the generation that breaks the cycle . Let’s chase after God, prioritizing His truth over human traditions. Here’s a reminder for you: the most life-changing transformations, the kind of deliverance that shakes chains off, and those powerful, heart-stirring revivals? They don’t always start in the church building. More often than not, they’re birthed in the quiet, sacred spaces of your daily life—in your living room, your car, your prayer closet. Now, forgive my long-winded intro (what can I say—this fire runs deep!), but let me cut to the chase. Here are some nuggets from my journey that I pray will hit home for you: 1. Salvation – Knowing God for Real Growing up, I thought I had a free pass to salvation just because I came from a Christian family. My mom was a prayer warrior—she knew how to call heaven down—but here’s the truth: I was riding on her faith, not walking in my own. I barely touched a Bible unless I was in church, and even then, it was like words on a page, not life-changing truth. My connection to God? Let’s just say it was more Wi-Fi drop than solid signal. I was straight-up lukewarm . Claiming faith on one hand, but letting the world call the shots on the other. The Bible doesn’t sugarcoat it— “Because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of My mouth” (Revelation 3:15-16). That hit hard. I was trying to serve two masters, but Jesus already made it clear: “You cannot serve both God and money” (or in my case, the world) (Matthew 6:24). To be real? I loved what the world offered way more than I loved God. Spiritually, I was starving. Hosea 4:6 says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge,” and that was me—wandering, lost, and without direction because I didn’t know the Word of God for myself. After what 2023 threw my way, I knew something had to shift—big time. I hit the ground running with fasting and prayer, pouring my heart out. But somewhere along the way, I felt stuck, like I was still leaning too much on people—waiting for a pastor’s shoutout, a prophecy, or a prayer group to light the way. I’d been chasing signs, wonders and solutions, zeroing in on my wants and needs. The turning point came when I stopped relying ONLY on pastors and prayer groups to feed me spiritually. I picked up my Bible and asked God to meet me there. And He did. Slowly but surely, my desires shifted. The things of this world lost their shine, and I found joy in seeking God daily. 2. Daily Devotion – It’s About Relationship, Not Religion The foundation of a faith-filled life? It’s simple: daily time with God. Think about it—if we can prioritize work, family, and scrolling through social media, why not carve out intentional time for the One who gave us life? God isn’t calling us into a casual acquaintance—He’s inviting us into daily discipleship. A journey where the Holy Spirit leads, teaches, and refines us, step by step. Yet so many of us miss this foundation. Real discipleship isn’t staying surface-level—it’s about pursuing a deep, personal relationship with Christ and committing to grow closer to Him every single day. Think of it this way: You wouldn’t expect a plant to grow if you only watered it once a week, right? The same goes for your faith. A vibrant relationship with God requires daily nourishment. So, carve out time to pray, read Scripture, and simply sit in His presence. Trust me, it’s a game-changer. 3. Spiritual Warfare – Repentance & Forgiveness Spiritual warfare is real —whether we like it or not. It’s a battle we all face, shaped by both the weight of our family bloodlines and the choices we’ve made ourselves. This journey isn’t for the faint of heart—it calls for repentance, renouncing past sins, and breaking free from generational cycles. And yeah, it can feel messy, frustrating, and intense. But here’s the good news: God’s Word tells us to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:7). Let’s talk about repentance for a second. Isn’t it wild that Jesus called John the Baptist the greatest man to ever live? (Matthew 11:11). Think about that! Moses split the sea wide open (Exodus 14:21). Elijah called down literal fire from heaven (2 Kings 1:10). And Elisha? He raised the dead (2 Kings 4:32–37). These guys were like the Avengers of the Old Testament. Yet John—no miracles, no jaw-dropping signs—was greater. Why? Because his mission was repentance. He prepared the way for Jesus by calling hearts back to God (Matthew 3:1–12). That tells us something huge: repentance is powerful . It’s not just a step in the process; it’s the key that unlocks transformation and brings us closer to God’s heart. And then there’s forgiveness—talk about a heavy-hitting weapon in spiritual warfare. Forgiveness slams shut every door the enemy uses to keep us stuck in bondage. Jesus didn’t mince words when He said we must forgive others to receive forgiveness ourselves (Matthew 6:14–15). Holding onto unforgiveness? That’s like giving the enemy a VIP pass to mess with your life. Let it go. Forgiveness isn’t just freeing for others—it’s liberating for you . The battle is real, but so is the victory. Repent, forgive, and stand firm in the truth that God’s got you. The enemy might throw punches, but he’s already been defeated. In this season of spiritual warfare, let us cling to God’s mercy and grace, knowing that He empowers us to endure, to forgive, and to overcome. 4. Environment & Connections When God starts pulling you through a season of deliverance and cleansing, it’s next level. But here’s the thing—you’ve got to be extra mindful of your environment and the people around you. This isn’t the time to play with fire or revisit old, sinful patterns. Ask yourself, “Are the conversations I’m having and the connections I’m keeping drawing me closer to God or pulling me away?” That’s your litmus test right there. In this season, discipline is your best friend . Surround yourself with things that pour into your spirit—worship music that stirs your soul, Bible verses that feed your heart, and godly content that keeps your mind fixed on Him. Let the presence of God saturate your space. And while you’re at it, cut ties with anything or anyone that tempts you to go back to what God has already delivered you from. Trust me, you can’t hold onto the past while stepping into your future. Yes, it might feel lonely at first—some friendships will fade, and people might not get your choices. That’s okay. Let them talk. God’s doing something in you that’s bigger than their opinions. You’re a new creation ; the old has no claim on you anymore (2 Corinthians 5:17). Be honest with yourself: can you really handle being in certain environments without slipping? If the answer’s no, don’t even entertain it. You’ve got no business being anywhere or doing anything that doesn’t glorify God. This is your season of growth . Embrace it. Let God strengthen you, refine you, and set you apart. The world might call it isolation, but heaven calls it consecration . Stay the course—what’s waiting for you on the other side is worth it. 5. Embrace the Process Some days, it might feel like crickets . You’re sitting there wondering, “God, are You even doing anything in my life?” Let me tell you—He absolutely is. Transformation isn’t an overnight thing; it’s a process. God’s not just slapping a band-aid on your life—He’s digging deep, uprooting the junk that doesn’t belong, and planting new desires that align with His heart. That’s holy work. Remember, you can’t pour new wine into old wineskins (Mark 2:22). If you’re hoping for a quick fix, you might be missing the bigger picture. God’s shaping you, molding you, and making you more like Him every step of the way. And yeah, that takes time. Real change is built in the process, not the shortcuts. Here’s the thing: walking with God isn’t just about arriving at a destination—it’s about the journey . There’s so much to explore with Him, so much to learn and discover as He works in your life. Don’t rush it. Surrender, trust the process, and let Him take you deeper than you’ve ever been before. God’s not just working on your situation; He’s working on you . And when He’s done? You won’t just see the change—you’ll be the change. Remember: A Devoted Life is the Goal At the end of the day, God doesn’t want half of your heart—He wants all of you. A life fully devoted to Him goes beyond Sunday services and religious rituals. It’s about seeking Him first, daily, and allowing His Spirit to guide every decision, every moment, and every relationship. Let’s be the generation that chooses God over the world. Let’s pursue Him with everything we’ve got. He’s worth it!
- God First, or Flesh First? Rethinking ‘Godly’ Dating
Because choosing your forever isn’t something you do with foggy glasses. Let’s Start Here: I Didn’t Want to Write This I’ve tried to avoid this topic for a while. Why? Because a lot of folks talk the talk but don’t walk it. Everyone’s out here hashtagging “Godly relationship goals,” but when you peek under the hood—lust, pride, and confusion are running the show. It’s giving secular situationship. Was that Shade 🤔🙃 Let me say this loud and clear: I’m not coming from a worldly perspective. This is from a woman who’s stayed in the secret place with God. So if anything here makes you uncomfortable… take it up with the Word of God. Is Your Relationship Rooted in God or the World? Here’s the uncomfortable truth: A lot of people say they’re Christians, but their relationships look exactly like the world’s. One day it’s “God first,”it’s Bible verses in the bio. The next, it’s “Netflix and sin.” And late-night fornication and DMs filled with temptation. That’s not cute. That’s double-mindedness (James 1:8). It’s giving Confused Vibes ! “Flee from sexual immorality…” (1 Corinthians 6:18) God didn’t say fight it. He said run! Sprint like Joseph. Holiness over hormones, every time. A relationship that entertains lust over holiness is not of God. Period. The Root of Ungodly Relationships: Let’s Get to the Root You can’t have a godly relationship if you’re not living a godly/holy life. It’s not about “bad timing” or “compatibility. Why relationships don’t work out All the time! The root- It’s about two people who are not fully submitted to God, his word and principles. If Christ is not your foundation, the relationship will be ruled by: • Lust • Pride • Ego • Selfishness And that combo? It’s a recipe for heartbreak. What Does a Godly Man Look Like? Let’s talk to the men. Some of y’all want submission from a woman but have zero submission to God. No accountability. That’s dangerous. “Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church…” – Ephesians 5:25 That’s a sacrificial love. You can’t love like Christ if you don’t walk with him! Let’s take a look at the story of Ananias Ananias (Acts 5) made one reckless decision, and it cost him and his wife their lives. Men—if you’re not submitted to God, you could lead your whole house into destruction. Being around church is not the same as being surrendered to Christ. Don’t just look for a man who goes to church—look for one who follows the word of God. What Does a Godly Woman Look Like? Ladies, I’m coming for us too. Some of us are out here loud about God, but there’s: • No holiness • No submission • No nurturing spirit “A wise woman builds her house, but a foolish one tears it down…” – Proverbs 14:1 A godly woman isn’t a distraction—she’s a destiny partner. She stirs a man toward: • Prayer • Worship • Obedience • Purpose Ask yourself: • Can I raise godly children? • Do I Submit to God’s Word More Than My Feelings? Let me be honest—I’m human. I’ve felt deeply, messed up plenty, and made choices based on emotion more times than I’d like to admit. So this isn’t coming from a place of judgment. At the end of the day, no matter how strong the feelings are… God’s Word should lead, not our emotions. Feelings are valid—but they’re not always right. God’s Word is right—always. Even when it’s hard. Even when it contradicts what we want in the moment. Misconception Check: “If She Submits to Her Dad, She’ll Submit to Me” Let’s clear this myth— quickly. Submission starts with God, not with man. Honoring your dad is great (Exodus 20:12), but that doesn’t equal submission in marriage. Marriage is a covenant , not just a continuation of upbringing. A woman can have a great relationship with her dad and still struggle in marriage if she’s not submitted to God's word . Submission in marriage flows from a surrendered heart to God—not a wordly daddy-daughter dynamic Submission begins with God’s Word . A woman who fears the Lord will honor her husband—not because he’s perfect, but because she’s obedient to God. Another Misconception Check “Watch How He Treats His Mum—That’s How He Will Treat You” Another topic we need to address! Because I’ve seen some men treat their mothers like fine china—eggshell gentle—and then turn around and treat women like garbage: lying, cheating, emotionally unavailable, lacking accountability, and calling it “just how I am.” Nah, bro —that’s just bad behavior. Just like I told the ladies… it applies to the men too: If a man doesn’t submit to God, he will never love right. He might show glimpses of honor and respect, especially toward family or in public moments—but when it comes to truly loving a woman, that kind of love takes spiritual capacity. And spiritual capacity only comes from walking in obedience to Christ. Because real love—sacrificial, faithful, forgiving, accountable, biblical love—isn’t something you just learn from only good upbringing. You need to truly be surrendered to Christ to love accordingly! So ladies, don’t just ask if he’s a gentleman. Ask if he’s surrendered to the Word of God. Because a man who won’t bow to Jesus won’t know how to love you like right. Period. LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK! So… How Do You Know They’re From God? There’s no magic formula. But here’s what I do know: You can’t hear God clearly while living in sin. Porn, lust, drunkenness, constant compromise—clouds your discernment. If you listen to more secular music than Scripture, how will you know God’s voice? “Be sober, be vigilant…” – 1 Peter 5:8 Satan sends counterfeits that look like your prayer request but are wrapped in bondage. Judge By the Word—Not Vibes Don’t base your future on chemistry, compliments, or compatibility quizzes. “Do not judge by appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.” – John 7:24 Ask yourself: • Does this person love God more than they love me? • Do they push me to Christ? • Do they walk in holiness when no one’s watching? If the answers are YES! That’s the one you can build with. A Godly Relationship Looks Like This: ✅ Brings you closer to God ✅ Encourages prayer, service, and growth ✅ Challenges you to mature ✅ Promotes quick forgiveness ✅ Is rooted in honoring Christ Final Word: Dating Is Serious Business Before you say “I do” —seek God. Fast. Pray. There is someone God crafted just for you, but you won’t find them in compromise. Be holy. Be vigilant. Don’t just date for fun—date with purpose. Who you date will either push you toward destiny—or pull you into destruction. Friendly Reminder- You will never lose a man—or a woman meant for you —chasing God! You’re not looking for perfection, but for a heart fully surrendered to God and anchored in His Word Music Time… But With a Twist! 💬 Richard Lorenzo is out here in the streets doing full-on Book of Acts evangelism. - 🔥 Consistency: The Secret Sauce
✨ NEW SERIES DROP ✨In addition to the blogs, we’re kicking off something fresh: bite-sized truth bombs pulled straight from the blog posts—because some lines just need their own spotlight. 📍 Today’s Highlight: Consistency — The Secret Sauce Here’s the hard truth: Your relationship with God is a commitment. You seek Him when you're happy. You seek Him when you're heartbroken. You seek Him when you're confused. You seek Him when you feel nothing. You seek Him even when you don’t feel like it. Like a good marriage—you don’t walk away just because it's a rough day. You don’t ghost God when it gets hard. By His grace, I’ve shown up daily for 2+ years. Not always strong. But always present. When it made no sense? I showed up. When I was blessed? I showed up. When I was broken? Still showed up. And I’m still here. Still surrendered. Still faithful. Because if you don’t discipline yourself in your walk with God... It will fade. Love takes nurturing. Faith takes showing up. Every. Single. Day. 🎵 Music Time — but with a twist! 🎵 I had to share this powerful video that truly shook me:👉 Watch here . (Watch this. Seriously) This man of God shared his powerful testimony—how God delivered him from narcissism and rejection, how he fully surrendered, and how the Lord revealed his wife to him. Yep… and they married within TWO months! But here’s where it gets intense: They weren’t prepared for the spiritual warfare. Why? Because both of them came from dysfunctional bloodlines—and those generational spirits? Oh, they came swinging. 😤 He said, “Our bloodlines were fighting each other.” Dysfunction vs dysfunction. Generational curses clashing in the spirit. 💥 He had to war in prayer. 💥 Break bloodline curses. 💥 Fight for his home in the Spirit. The only way out? Holy living + praying in the Spirit to break those bloodline patterns . Because the enemy was gunning for their marriage. And let’s be honest… kingdom marriages are under attack like never before. Some of y’all wonder why relationships keep crumbling—and truthfully? That spirit of divorce, separation, or dysfunction is still lurking in the background…waiting to repeat itself. Moral of the message? 🛡️ If you come from a broken background, you must be prayed up, live holy, and be spiritually alert. 💍 And do not marry someone who can’t go to war with you in the Spirit. Because if you’re unequally yoked in battle—you’re FINISHED before you begin (THAT PART!). 💍 This is how we choose a spouse in the Kingdom. Let’s run the checklist 📝: ✅ Do they love God for real? Not just church goers, they have daily communion with God. ✅ Does the Word of God matter more than their feelings? ✅ Do they actually value holiness (it's a lifestyle), or just talk about it? ✅ Can they submit to God’s divine order in marriage—biblically, not just culturally? ✅ Can they raise Godly seeds, not just cute kids? ✅ Can they war in the Spirit? ✅ Do they have a heart to forgive, or are they emotionally petty (Always trying to 1 UP)? If these boxes aren’t checked, run. Don’t confuse potential with purpose. Marriage is ministry— not a project . Choose prayerfully. Your peace depends on it. This interview was a wake-up call. Thank God for men who won’t give up on the Word of God. 🙏 Let’s be that generation. Let’s break the cycle. Remember this: You will never lose a man—or a woman meant for you—chasing God!
- Part 1: The Hypocritical Believer: You Need To Grow Now
Did the title catch your attention? I sure hope so—because we’ve got to talk about it. Too many of us are hypocrites. Yep, I said it. We keep ghosting God—showing up when we feel like it, then disappearing when life gets busy. And let’s be honest—that cycle needs to stop. You're probably like, “OMG, hypocrite ? That’s a strong word!” But the word simply means this: your words don’t match your actions. You talk the talk, but don’t walk the walk (AKA. Double Life). And if we're honest, that’s a lot of us in our faith journey. I love Jesus… but I’m still out here fornicating, lying, cheating, getting drunk, and living in straight-up compromise Walking with Jesus isn’t a weekend hobby or a side hustle. It’s a daily commitment—consistency, discipline and surrender. Not in your own strength, but through God’s grace. Let’s unpack what it really means to stop living a double life. Let’s talk about how to stop being hypocrites—not just with our words but with our lifestyles. From Hypocrisy to Rededication Yep—call it what it is. You’ve been a hypocrite. Yep, you heard me. If you’ve been lukewarm, Listen—I’ve been there. I’ll use my life as a real example. I had to rededicate my life to God. Again. Why? Because I was lukewarm. And people questioned me, like “Weren’t you already saved?” But I had bought into that sneaky lie: “Once saved, always saved.” That’s a dangerous mindset. Salvation isn’t a one-time prayer—it’s a life fully surrendered. But mine? It didn’t reflect Jesus. I was claiming Him with my mouth, but my heart was far. I wasn’t devoted to biblical principles. I picked what fit my agenda and discarded the rest. Talk about hypocrisy! How could I love someone I only met on Sundays? Yeah, I had some good morals. I was a “good person.” But let’s keep it real—God wasn’t first. He wasn’t the foundation. He was just a part of my life, not the center. And the embarrassing truth I was more disciplined in the gym than in my walk with God. I was: Showing up to the gym 5 days a week, rain or shine. Doing F45 workouts at 6AM—without a car—and still made it ON TIME! Sacrificing sleep, comfort, and convenience… for fitness. But spiritually? Inconsistent. Unmotivated. Full of excuses. I’d fight through exhaustion for workouts, but skip prayer because I was “tired.” I’d meal prep like a pro, but couldn’t fast to save my life. I’d wake up early for fitness, but not for God. That WAS ME giving my ALL TO MY WORKOUTS!! Something had to change. The Idol I Didn’t Know I Had Even after rededicating my life, hypocrisy still lingered. There was something I desperately wanted from God—it consumed me. I fasted, sowed seeds, prayed radical prayers. And still... silence. “Hope deferred makes the heart sick...” (Proverbs 13:12) I was heart-sick. Tired of waiting. Tired of the silence. And then—boom—the Holy Spirit convicted me. This thing I wanted so badly? It was an idol. I didn’t want God. I wanted what He could do for me. And once I got it, I knew I’d be MIA again. That’s not relationship. That’s transactional religion. The Turning Point: True Surrender I had a choice: Be a hypocrite—keep wrestling with God and demanding my way. Or lay it down , accept His will, and let Him be Lord , not just Savior. I chose surrender. And that was the best decision I ever made. “Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 I finally found peace—not because I got what I wanted, but because I let go of my will. The delay wasn’t punishment. It was preparation. God wasn’t ignoring me. He was shaping me. Wanna know how I stopped being a hypocrite, and let God truly lead every area of my life? - Apologize and Be Free: Breaking Limitations Through Humility
A simple “I’m sorry” might be the key to your peace of mind! A Message I Didn’t Plan to Write This might be the fastest blog I’ve ever written—meaning it’s urgent. Someone out there needs this now . This message was sparked by a teaching from one of the teachers who helped ignite my hunger for God. After listening to him, I started reading my Bible front to back—no lie. And what he said about apologizing hit deep. You’re Stuck Because You Won’t Say Sorry Let’s be honest. As believers, we sometimes hurt people. And yes, we run to God, we repent, we cry out to God… but sometimes, God wants more. Sometimes, God will convict you to apologize to the actual person —face to face, voice to voice, heart to heart. You might say: “But Lord, I already repented to You!” “It’s been years—I’ve moved on! They’ve probably moved on too” “What’s the point now?” Valid questions. I’ve asked them too. But here’s the thing: seeking forgiveness and reconciliation are spiritual protocols! And sometimes, you need to apologize —not for closure, not for validation, but because it’s the right thing to do . It’s Not so Hard To Say! Sometimes, A Verbal Apology Is Required Let me tell you what this teacher shared: When he gave his life to Christ, the Holy Spirit prompted him to go back and apologize to several women he had dated and wronged—some years ago. He didn’t want to. He wrestled with the shame. But he couldn’t ignore the conviction. So, one by one, he apologized. Some responses were gracious. I imagine Some were cold. And one? One woman cursed him out ! But he obeyed God anyway. And after that last apology, he said he felt like a spiritual weight lifted off his shoulders. That’s the power of obedience. The freedom that follows humility. The Spiritual Weight of Unspoken Sorrys God may be pressing your heart to apologize to someone you’ve hurt. And you’ve been dodging the thought. You’re hoping the conviction will fade. This is your confirmation: Don’t ignore the Holy Spirit. That apology may be the very thing unlocking the peace you’ve been praying for. Whether they forgive you or not, do the right thing . Don’t use a middleman. Don’t hide behind a text. Man up. Woman up. Reach out. The apology must come from the heart. My Personal Story When I began truly walking with God, I repented for a lot of my past. But there was one person the Holy Spirit wouldn’t let me forget. Someone I hurt badly over five years ago. I resisted at first—shame had a tight grip on me. But God kept pressing. The truth? I felt ashamed I didn’t want to face the part of me that caused that kind of pain. But God didn’t care about my feelings—He cared about my character and doing what was righteous! So I gathered the courage. I reached out. I apologized. And yes—I cried. To my surprise, she forgave me, hugged me, and our friendship was restored. But let me be clear: restoration is not the goal—obedience is. Even if nothing is restored when you apologize, your heart is realigned with God’s righteousness. That moment crushed my pride. It reminded me that even when time has passed, wrong is still wrong. Pride Keeps Us in Bondage Pride will have you pretending you’re “fine” while silently suffering. Pride will whisper, “It’s too late.” But God is whispering, “It’s time to make it right.” God Cares About Reconciliation Matthew 5:23–24 (NKJV):y “If you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there… First be reconciled to your brother.” → God values reconciliation even before worship. That’s how serious apologizing is. A Simple Apology Can Change Everything Let this sink in: • A simple apology can break limitations. • A simple apology can be the deliverance you need. • A simple apology might save your future. • A simple apology can set your spirit free. Yes, we pray. Yes, we fast. But some breakthroughs require action. And sometimes, that action is as simple—and as hard—as saying sorry. Sometimes, obedience looks like an uncomfortable conversation . Final Word: Apologize Even If It Costs You If the Holy Spirit is convicting you to apologize, don’t delay. Don’t overthink it. Don’t wait for the perfect time. Just obey. Whether they hug you or curse you out— do it anyway. Whether they accept it or reject it— do it anyway. Why? Because God told you to . Because freedom is on the other side of obedience . Because pride should never have the final say . “Even if they don’t receive it, you’re doing what’s right by God.” Let This Be Your Prayer Today “Lord, give me the humility and courage to apologize where I need to. Help me obey You even when it’s uncomfortable. Break every spirit of pride in me!" If This Convicted You… Don’t wait. Don’t delay. Apologize and be free. You can’t move forward until you make things right. 🎵🎶 MUSIC TIME 🎵🎶 🎵🎶 Marcus Rogers – “Turf” This one right here? Melody meets warfare! A groove that makes you nod your head while stomping on the enemy’s lies. The beat hits, but those lyrics! 🎵🎶 J udikay – “Imegi” This song is a whole heart posture. “In all things, I will rejoice…” It’s that gentle reminder to praise Him when it’s good, bad, or silent. A true worship anthem for the storm and the sunshine.
- ✨Part 1 - The Bridge Between Believing & Becoming: Your Next Steps in Christ
So, you’ve given your life or rededicated your life to Christ—amazing! But now what? Outside of going to church on Sundays, what does your new life in Christ actually look like? I genuinely believe there is a gap between salvation and the journey of sanctification and discipleship—and because of this, many believers get stuck. They pray the sinner’s prayer, maybe even feel the presence of God, but then… life goes back to normal. Outside of attending church, many don’t know what to do next. And because of this, the body of Christ suffers. No real transformation. No clear next steps. And that’s a problem because the whole purpose of salvation is not just to believe in Jesus but to be transformed by Him. The truth is, salvation is just the beginning! Today, we’re going to bridge that gap and talk about what happens after salvation— which are sanctification and discipleship . These two stages happen simultaneously, and if we don’t emphasize them enough (or model them well), many believers will never fully experience what it means to follow Christ; leaving many lost, stagnant, or even drifting away. Ever wonder what sanctification and discipleship are all about? Let’s break down these sacred concepts in plain language. Then we’ll explore how living them out can transform your everyday life—specifically, which parts of your life start to change as you grow in Christ. Sanctification: The Process of Becoming Like Christ Sanctification is the process of purification, where God renews your mind, heals you, and sets you apart from the world. This is where transformation happens—you start unlearning worldly ways and relearning God’s ways. This is where the Holy Spirit starts working in you. It’s a season of: ✔ Renewing your mind ✔ Healing from past wounds ✔ Letting go of sinful habits ✔ Learning holiness and righteousness ✔ Aligning your thoughts, desires, and lifestyle with God’s standards ⚠️ If you skip this stage, you risk becoming lukewarm—stuck in a cycle of believing in God but never actually living for Him. You will go through the motions of church but never truly grow. You will miss out on the lifestyle, habits, and disciplines needed to walk and stay with God. Discipleship: Spiritual Mentorship If sanctification is the “inner work,” discipleship is the “relational work.” I like to call discipleship “spiritual mentorship.” It’s when God aligns you with someone more mature in their faith to help you grow. Your discipler doesn’t replace God but points you back to His Word. They will help guide you, sharpen you, and teach you how to walk with Christ. They’re not just teachers—they’re brothers and sisters in Christ, walking alongside you. A true discipler will: ✔ Point you back to the Word of God ✔ Help you navigate early sanctification season ✔ Share sermons, books, and resources to strengthen you ✔ Correct and challenge you ✔ Meet with you regularly (this is NOT a once-a-month thing!) 📌 If you only check in once a month, you will struggle. It’s a relationship that requires regular connection and accountability. Discipleship LOVE Look at Paul & Timothy or Jesus & the Twelve Disciples—discipleship is intentional and consistent. You need people who will walk this journey with you, not just cheer from the sidelines. A. Prayer & Bible Study: Your Daily Non-Negotiables Let’s be honest—most of us have struggled with inconsistency in our prayer and Bible study. We pray one day, forget the next, and then wonder why we feel distant from God. But if you truly want to grow, your prayer life and time in the Word must change for the better. It’s about discipline. Just like you schedule time for work, school, or the gym, you need to set a dedicated time for prayer and Bible study—and stick to it. 1. Prayer: The Lifeline of Your Spirit Prayer is not just something you do when you’re in trouble; it’s your daily connection with God. If you only talk to Him when you need something, you’re missing out on the depth of a real relationship. Set a daily prayer time. Maybe an hour at 6 AM. Whatever works for you—just make it a habit. There will be days when you don’t feel like praying. Pray anyway. Your walk with God is not based on emotions; it’s based on commitment. Some days will feel dry, but just like working out at the gym, consistency builds strength (AND YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FEEL EVERY WORKOUT). 2. Bible Study: Feeding Your Spirit Here’s a truth bomb: You cannot know God without reading His Word. If you don’t know the Word, you won’t know how to pray effectively. God responds to His Word, not just our emotions. He said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Matthew 24:35). When you pray using Scripture, you’re aligning your requests with His will—and that’s when you start seeing real results. Set a Bible reading schedule. Maybe you read 3 chapters a day. Maybe you study for 30 minutes every morning. The key is consistency. Think of the Bible as spiritual food. Just like you need breakfast, lunch, and dinner to function physically, your spirit needs the Word of God to thrive. If you miss meals daily, you feel weak. If you neglect the Word, your spirit becomes weak and vulnerable. 3. Stay Immersed in the Word One easy way to build your faith is to constantly surround yourself with the Word: ✅ Play Bible verses in the background while you work or sleep ✅ Listen to sermons and worship music that edifies your spirit ✅ Meditate on Scripture throughout your day Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17), so keep feeding your spirit daily. Spiritual growth is a journey. At first, it’s like lifting light weights, but as you stay faithful to prayer and the Word of God, your strength increases. You’ll handle deeper revelations, overcome temptation, and experience true transformation. 👣 Stay tuned for Part 2: The Shift, The Circle, and the Wilderness In Part 2, we dive into: ➡️ How your habits and desires begin to change ➡️ How sanctification shifts your friendships ➡️ Why the wilderness season is NECESSARY ➡️ And how all of this shapes the believer God has called you to become 👉 Let’s go deeper. 🎶 MUSIC TIME 🎶 🎶 First up: Nathaniel Bassey – “Hungry for You” This song is literally the cry of my heart right now. So simple, so pure. That line “I want to know You more than I’ve ever known You” —man, it hits deep. It’s that real, raw, intimate kind of worship. You can feel the hunger for God in every word. We can always go deeper with Him. 🎶 TY Bello, Greatman Takit & Theophilus Sunday – “Heaven Has Come” All I’m gonna say is… just listen. No distractions. Let the lyrics sink in and move your heart. It’s beautiful, powerful, and straight-up heavenly.
- ✨Part 2 - The Bridge Between Believing & Becoming: The Shift, The Circle & The Wilderness
🔥 Welcome Back! Let’s Keep Building the Bridge… In Part 1 , we talked about what happens after you give your life to Christ—because salvation isn’t the finish line, it’s the starting point . We unpacked the sacred (and often skipped) steps of sanctification and discipleship . We also hit on two essentials that can’t be treated like options: prayer and Bible study Now in Part 2, we’re going deeper. It’s time to talk about the real-life shifts that start happening as you walk with Christ— ➡️ Your habits ➡️ Your friendships ➡️ Your desires ➡️ And yes… your wilderness season 🔥 Get ready. Because this is where the transformation gets personal Habits & Desires: The Shift You Can’t Ignore One of the biggest signs that you’re truly growing in Christ is your convictions start changing. Worldly things you once enjoyed? They don’t hit the same anymore. The sin you used to tolerate? You can’t stomach them now. MUST CHANGE 1. Lifestyle Choices: The Holy Spirit Will Change Your Appetite Before I fully surrendered to God, I didn’t see anything wrong with certain things. Clubbing? No problem. Fornication? Normal. Secular music with explicit lyrics? Just a vibe. But the deeper I went with Christ, the more my appetite changed. Suddenly, the things I used to enjoy started feeling off. It wasn’t because someone gave me a list of “Christian rules”—it was because the Holy Spirit was rewiring my desires. The club didn’t excite me anymore. Fornication wasn’t an option—I wanted to honor God with my body. My speech cleaned up without me forcing it. The music I used to love started to sound like noise. The UNGODLY TV shows I binged before? Couldn’t watch them anymore. 🕊️ This is what sanctification does. It’s not about following religious rules—it’s about God changing your heart from the inside out. 2. Habits: You Will Develop New Rhythms As my desires changed, my daily habits followed: ✅ Serving Others – I felt led to give to the poor, help those in need ✅ Edifying Content – I replaced empty entertainment with sermons, books, CLEAN entertainment and teachings that strengthened my faith ✅ Fellowship & Accountability – I made time for Bible studies, discipleship, and godly conversations This shift didn’t happen overnight, but as I stayed in prayer and the Word, I saw real change. WE NEED IT IN THIS PROCESS 3. Desires: You Will Crave Holiness Holiness isn’t just about what you stop doing; it’s about what you start craving. I didn’t just lose interest in sin—I developed a deep desire to please God. My anthem became: “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.” (Philippians 2:13) It wasn’t about me trying to be “better”—it was about God literally giving me new desires. I didn’t want to just “be a Christian.” I wanted to live holy. I wanted to be set apart (2 Corinthians 6:17). If your life still looks exactly like the world, something is off. People should see the fruit of Christ in you. Not perfection, but evidence of transformation. 📍If the things of this world still excite you more than the things of God, it’s time for a heart check. Friendships: Who You Walk With Determines Where You Go This one is heavy. It’s also one of the hardest shifts in your walk with God. When you start walking in sanctification, your friendships will change. Not because you suddenly think you’re better than anyone, but because who you surround yourself with will either fuel your fire for God—or put it out. 1. Your Friends Might Not Be Bad—But Are They Good for You? Let’s be real—many of us still have worldly friends. And just because they’re worldly doesn’t mean they’re bad people. We were once in their shoes too. But here’s the reality check: If you’re trying to walk in purity, but your friends are always talking about who they’re messing around with, getting drunk, and using foul language—how long before it starts influencing you? Even if they’re not doing the obvious sins, they might have mindsets and beliefs that contradict God’s Word. That’s just as dangerous! (REMEBER AN UNSURRENDERED FRIEND IS AS DANGEROUS AS AN OUTRIGHT ENEMY) If they constantly give you advice that pulls you away from biblical truth, they’re affecting you more than you think. 2. The Power of Influence—You’re Not as Strong as You Think I used to believe I was strong enough to stay around certain people and not be affected. But when I look back, I realize my biggest spiritual growth happened when I separated from certain connections. Whether we like it or not, we are influenced by the people we talk to, listen to, and spend time with. Even a little exposure can plant the wrong seeds. And those seeds grow. 🚫 You cannot deceive yourself into thinking you can be around just anybody in this season. If they aren’t walking in the same direction, you will fall or drift fast. 3. Think of This Like Surgery—You Need a Consecration Season If you had major surgery, would you just go anywhere and be around anyone? No! You’d protect your healing process, follow doctor’s instructions, and only allow people around you who are helping your recovery. Your sanctification season is the same. It ’s not about isolating yourself, but about protecting your spiritual growth. Anyone who isn’t drawing you closer to God needs to go—at least for this season. And yes, it will be hard. You’ll miss them. You’ll feel alone. But let me tell you something… When You Get Serious, God Sends Destiny Connections When I showed God that I was serious about following Him, He started connecting me with people who were aligned with my purpose. People who were hungry for God, disciplined in their walk, and committed to holiness. They became iron sharpening iron (Proverbs 27:17). We might have been at different stages in our walk, but we pushed each other toward Christ. Some of you are waiting for your destiny connections, but they haven’t found you yet because you’re still tied to the wrong crowd. God is waiting for you to let go of what’s holding you back so He can position you where you belong. 4. Your Transformation Can Be Someone’s Testimony Here’s the beautiful part: when you fully surrender to God, your life becomes a testimony. I’ve seen people separate from their old circles, grow in Christ, and later bring some of their old friends to Jesus—not by force, but by the undeniable change in their life. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) People are watching you. Some of them don’t need a sermon—they need to see proof that God is real. And your transformation might be what makes them believe. This is a tough area. We love our friends. But Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). 📌 If someone isn’t helping you bear good fruit in this season, they can’t go with you. The Wilderness Season: When God Pulls You Aside to Transform You Every believer, at some point, MUST go through a wilderness season—a time of pruning ✂️, refining 🔥, and transformation. It ’s that awkward in-between stage where you feel like God has separated you from everything you once knew. It’s not isolation—it’s separation. God isn’t punishing you; He’s preparing you. You’ve been in the world for a while, soaking in its ways, its mindset, its desires. Now, the Lord is taking His time to undo, unlearn, and rebuild you in His image 🕊️. ⏳ How Long Will It Take? I get this question a lot. “How long does the sanctification and discipleship process take?” For some, it takes six months 📅. For others, a year or two ⏳. Honestly? It depends on how much of the world is still in you that God needs to strip away. The more you surrender, the faster He can work. But don’t rush the process—if you step out of it too soon, you’ll be half-baked , lacking power ⚡, wisdom 📖, and true transformation. And when the enemy comes, you’ll be easily shaken . 🚀 This is a Lifetime Journey Sanctification and discipleship never truly end—they just evolve. Yes, the beginning season is intense, but growth in Christ is lifelong. You will always be learning, refining, and being transformed by the HOLY SPIRIT. Don’t Forget: ✔ Moses had 40 years in the desert ✔ Joseph had years in prison before promotion ✔ Jesus spent time alone before starting His ministry 💡 Be Intentional—This is Not a Freestyle Walk You don’t just wing it when it comes to marriage 💍, career 💼, or school 🎓. You make intentional efforts to succeed in those areas. Why should your walk with God be any different? 🤔 If you approach your spiritual growth casually, you’ll stay stuck, get stagnant, or fall back. Final Thought: Be Patient with the Process “If God was patient with us during our rebellion, why can’t we be patient with Him during our renewal?” Trust the process . Stay in the fire 🔥 until God fully refines you. When you finally step out of the wilderness, you won’t just be changed—you will be the message you preach! 🎶 MUSIC TIME🎶 “Gang Worship” – A bold declaration that worship is a lifestyle, not just a Sunday routine! “Thank You” – A reminder to pause and give God the praise He deserves! 🙏🏽
