Previously on Part 1...
We got real. Real about how easy it is to talk the talk but not walk the walk. We exposed the hypocrisy that creeps in when we claim God with our lips but ghost Him with our lives. I shared how I was more disciplined in the gym than in my walk with Jesus—ouch, right? But it was true. So, I had to rededicate my life again, not because I didn’t know God, but because I wasn’t surrendered. I let idols take His place and treated my relationship with Him like a part-time job.
But Jesus isn’t looking for weekend lovers. He’s after full-time followers. Part 1 was all about realizing that true discipline is less about striving and more about surrender. That the problem isn’t always our situation—it’s our perspective. And now, in Part 2, we’re going deeper into what it means to stay faithful, even when it feels dry, slow, or silent.
The Perspective Shift: Seeing Through God’s Lens
Here’s the truth:
Sometimes, the problem isn’t the situation—it’s the lens we’re looking through. We think God’s ignoring us. But what if the issue isn’t God’s silence—but our perspective?
I was chasing my desire… God was chasing my heart. I prayed and fasted, thinking I was being persistent. Truthfully? I was just being stubborn. I wanted God to change my situation, but God wanted to change me.
We want the promise—without the pruning. But God's priority is not only the blessing—it’s our character.
Without His grace, we misinterpret everything:
Delay feels like denial.
Pruning feels like punishment.
Waiting feels like wasting time.
Why God Takes His Time
God could bless you in a second. But forming Christlike character in you? That takes time. It takes time to build a man or woman who can carry that blessing.
Had God answered me right away, I wouldn’t have:
Grown in discipline
Learned to hear His voice
Developed spiritual maturity. Become spiritually mature enough to sustain the blessing.
Instead of chasing the blessing, I started chasing Him. And my desires? They changed.
My mindset, friendships, and habits transformed. I wasn’t just talking about being a Christian— I was becoming one.
The Invisible Growth: The Power of Incremental Growth
We want sudden breakthroughs and blessings but God works in the process!
Some days I opened my Bible and felt nothing.
Some days I prayed and it felt like I was talking to a wall.
But looking back?
God was working—deeply. Quietly. Powerfully. Growth was always happening—it just wasn’t visible yet.
Think of a plant.
You water it daily, nothing happens…
Then one day—boom—growth bursts forth. Growth was always happening—it just wasn’t visible yet.
That’s your walk with God. Little by little, he's adding, refining, shaping and stretching.
That’s how God works.
5% growth here. 10% there.
Before you know it, you’ve transformed.
Consistency: The Secret Sauce
Hard truth?Your relationship with God is a commitment.
You seek Him when you’re happy.
You seek Him when you're hurting.
You seek Him when you're confused.
You seek Him even when you feel nothing
You seek him when you don’t feel like it.
Like a marriage—you don't quit because you're having a bad day & certainly you don’t quit when it gets hard.
By God’s grace, I’ve shown up daily for 2+ years. Not always strong, but always present.
When it made no sense, I showed up.
When I got the bonus check, I showed up.
When I was weary, joyful, or broken—I showed up.
Shown up even when the biggest desire of my heart still hasn’t happened.
And I’m still showing up. Still surrendered. Still Faithful
Because if you don’t discipline yourself in your walk with God,
it will fade.
It must be nurtured.
My Challenge to You
If you don’t already have one, start a daily sacred time with God. Call it covenant time. Secret place. Devotion hour. Whatever you want—just show up and commit. Even when it feels dry. Even when you're discouraged. The seeds you sow will bloom in due season.
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap…” – Galatians 6:9
Don’t just chase the gift or the blessings—be transformed by the Giver.
Pray for character. Pray to bear the fruits of the Spirit:
Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-control.
Because the greatest reward isn’t what God gives—it’s who you become in Him.
Keep watering.
Keep showing up.
Keep growing.
The harvest is coming.
🎼 MUSIC TIME 🎵
Let me bless your ears and your spirit today:
🎬 Movie: The Forge
I couldn’t stop crying. I watched it with a friend—now a sister. This film will convict and inspire. It brings the call to discipleship to life in a raw, real way.
🎶 Song: Heart Cry – Theophilus Sunday & TY Bello
This one is sacred. It carried me through my pruning season. If you desire intimacy with God—this song will take you there. Not just music—it’s a soul cry.
Let the song draw you deeper.
And may your heart forever echo this:
"God, I want You—more than anything You can give me." 💜
