The Divine Order: Gender Roles According to God’s Design

Let me start by making this clear: I am not a feminist—never have been, never will be. I am a God-fearing woman who submits to the Word of God, period. The reason I’m writing this blog is because I am tired of seeing supposed women of God fight against something that has already been established by the divine order of God.
Now, before you come for me, let’s clarify something: There is a difference between equality and role confusion. I fully believe that men and women should receive equal pay for equal work—fairness is biblical, and justice is close to God’s heart. But where I draw the line is when women start stepping into roles that were never designed for them.
Think about it like this: At your job, you have a specific role. You wouldn’t work in the IT department and suddenly decide you’re going to take over marketing, would you? No! Because there’s an order, a structure, a design. The same is true for God’s divine order between men and women.
The Biblical Structure of Authority
Let’s look at 1 Corinthians 11:3:
“But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.”
This verse lays it out plain and simple. Just as Christ submits to God, and man submits to Christ, women are called to submit to their husbands. That’s God’s design—not oppression, not inequality, but divine order.
Submission is NOT Weakness
Somewhere along the way, society twisted the idea of submission into something negative, as if it means weakness. But let’s be real—true strength is found in submission. Even Jesus Himself, being fully God, submitted to the Father’s will. Was He weak? Absolutely not!
If a man submits to Christ and a woman submits to her husband, there is harmony. The problem comes when we flip the script—when men refuse to lead, and women try to take on roles they weren’t created for.
Stay in Your Role—It’s Not a Competition!
Look around at today’s culture. It’s a mess. Men have stepped out of their roles as fathers, and mothers have been forced to step in and fill a role they were never designed for. And guess what? It’s not working.
No matter how strong, independent, or capable a woman is, she cannot replace a father. And on the flip side, a man wasn’t created to take on the role of a mother. God made both roles necessary—each bringing something unique and essential to the table.
And when we ignore that? Broken families, dysfunctional households, and wounded children—this is what happens when we reject God’s divine structure. We see it all around us: fatherless homes, young boys without guidance, daughters searching for love in all the wrong places, and families crumbling under the weight of imbalance. This is the real cost of stepping outside of God’s order.
But here’s where we’ve gone even further off track: Now, we have women trying to compete with men—like it’s a challenge to prove we can do everything they can. But why? Since when was this a competition?
Let me drop this truth bomb on you:
“To build a STRONG TEAM, you must see someone else’s STRENGTH as a complement to your WEAKNESS, not a threat to your position or authority.”
Read that again.
A godly marriage, a godly home, and even a godly society function best when men and women embrace their God-given roles instead of trying to one-up each other. A man’s strength is not a threat to a woman’s role, and a woman’s role is not a weakness—it’s divine design.
We need both. We need godly men leading, covering, and protecting. We need godly women nurturing, strengthening, and building up. That’s how we create a stable home, a strong family, and a generation that isn’t lost in confusion.
God’s order isn’t outdated—it’s the blueprint for success. God didn’t make a mistake when He created man and woman with different roles. He did it on purpose. Let’s stop fighting for roles we were never meant to have and start embracing the ones God has already given us. Because when we do things His way—everybody wins.
