Part 1 -The Blueprint Before the Promise

Today’s blog is going to be a little different.

I’m writing about a dear friend. But before we get started, give your girl  a round of applause. 😂

Okay, this time I’m serious!

Drum roll, please… 🥁

I’m almost done reading the Bible for the 8th time. 😭

I still can’t believe it.

God’s grace did this!

Alright, now back to the story of my friend.

The Pain That Changed Everything

A few years ago, a friend of mine experienced one of the most traumatizing moments of her life.

Let’s just say… I wouldn’t wish that kind of pain on anyone.

It was brutal.

But she learned something.

Sometimes the place of our deepest devastation becomes the birthplace of our greatest testimony.

That pain brought her to Jesus in a way nothing else ever had.

The truth is, someone else could have gone through the exact same situation and walked away bitter.

The pain wasn’t what ultimately changed her.

Her response to God did.

She Was Religious, But Wasn’t Surrendered

Before that season, she would have called herself a Christian.

She had good morals.

She went to church.

She paid her tithes.

She helped the needy.

She did all the “good Christian” things.

People would have described her as successful, kind, and wise.

But she was lukewarm.

She mentioned God with her lips, but many times her heart was far from Him.

Yes, her sins may have looked “respectable” according to the world’s standards.

But sin is still sin.

After the devastation, she was in deep agony.

Yet in that agony, she felt God pulling her with a force she had never experienced before.

Not condemning her.

Calling her.

Inviting her into true communion.

Teaching her His ways.

Called to Be a Pattern Breaker

Even before she truly surrendered her life to Christ, she always believed she was called to break generational patterns.

She knew God wanted something different for her and for her future generations.

She just didn’t understand the weight of that assignment.

So she came to God for real.

No more one foot in the world and one foot in church.

That is when the fire of transformation began.

Looking back, she thanks God for the purification process.

It wasn’t comfortable.

But it was necessary.

God’s Design for Relationships

During that season, the Lord began teaching her many things, but the lesson that impacted her the most was about relationships—not according to culture or man-made rules, but according to His heart.

One sentence changed everything for her:

“However you begin a relationship is often how it will eventually end.”

Foundation matters.

How you start a relationship determines the foundation you build upon.

That shook her.

If a relationship begins with lust…

Compromise…

Fornication…

Lies…

Manipulation…

Or any foundation outside God’s standard…

Eventually the fruit will reveal the root.

She repented.

Not just for fornication, but for every area where she had compromised God’s standard.

Then the Lord showed her something she  will never forget:

Before He builds a relationship, He establishes a foundation of purity.

If the foundation isn’t built according to His ways, He isn’t the author of it.

Many marriages work according to the world’s standards.

They may appear good, successful, and even admirable, yet they still are not operating according to the way God originally ordained marriage to function.

God has never called us to settle for what is merely “good” by human standards when He desires to give us His best.

That is the sad reality.

Only a few marriages truly operate according to God’s original design.

His blueprint is higher than culture’s expectations, deeper than human wisdom, and more beautiful than anything the world could ever create.

The question isn’t simply,

“Is this marriage working?”or “is this marriage good?“

The real question is,

“Is this marriage reflecting God’s heart ? and is it God ordained?”

There is a difference.

That thought humbled her.

“Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain.” — Psalm 127:1

Then Came the Secret Place

As God transformed her heart, He led her into a season of intense prayer and fasting.

Before this season, she thought she knew how to pray.

Had she known lol..

She was barely scratching the surface.

The burden, wisdom, revelation, and insight God began giving her were unlike anything she had ever experienced.

Then the Lord simply told her,

“Focus on Me.”

So she did.

She didn’t date anyone.

And let’s just say… no man knew her name. 😂

Could she have entertained people?

Absolutely.

My friend is really fineee. 😂

But she understood something.

If you’re building something generationally, some temporary pleasures have to die.

Too many people jump into another relationship before healing from the last one.

That cycle almost always ends in destruction.

As believers, we cannot keep repeating unhealthy patterns while expecting different results.

Some wounds are not just emotional.

Some are spiritual.

Especially if you come from a home marked by divorce, separation, abuse, addiction, or repeated dysfunction.

The enemy wants history to repeat itself.

The only way a new story is written is through complete surrender to God.

He reveals blind spots we cannot see ourselves.

We Can’t Mix God’s Ways With the World’s Ways

Many people build relationships on lust…

Convenience…

Emotional dependency…

Hypocrisy…

Or sexual immorality.

Then they comfort themselves by saying,

“But we pray together.”

“We study the Bible together.”

Those things are beautiful.

But spiritual activities cannot replace complete obedience.

Our God is holy.

He has zero tolerance for compromise.

We don’t get to mix God’s ways with the world’s methods and expect Heaven’s blessing.

Part 2 is coming soon… 👀

Can you wait?
