No Mimosas — Redefining Events, The Kingdom Way
Because fun and holiness were never supposed to be enemies.
I have something exciting to share.
First, it started with A Feast for His Beloved, and now God has given us something new to start.
God is using a new and unconventional avenue to capture the hearts of people and draw them closer to Himself.
This is the birth of No Mimosas.
I won’t say too much—I’ll simply let you read the heart behind it.
The Heart Behind the Name
I know, I know.
“Okay… so what exactly is No Mimosas?”
Stay with me.
The Backstory
Quick backstory — I’ve always been a connector. Planning events, bringing people together, creating experiences. I loved it. And honestly? I was pretty good at it.
No bragging. I’m a humble child. 😌
Fast forward. I surrendered my heart to my King — that’s a story for another day — and about two years into a deeper walk with God, I had a dream.
In the dream, I said to a group of people:
“I do socials. We have food and drinks… but no mimosas.”
I woke up like…
“God, how exactly are we supposed to bring THAT to life?”
And I’ll be honest — I struggled with the name. I knew people would raise an eyebrow. But I went with it because it’s what I said in the dream.
Looking back, I think God was testing me. Especially knowing my history. Because I belonged to a clique you could’ve easily called the Bottomless Mimosa Musketeers (LOL).
You can’t live in DC and not appreciate a good bottomless brunch. It’s practically a cultural experience.
But God started showing me why this name mattered.
Brunch, hijacked
Think about it — when most people hear brunch, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?
Not the food. (Although for people like me… it’s absolutely the food.)
Not the gathering either. “It’s the mimosas.”
Somewhere along the way, the heart of brunch got hijacked. What was meant to be a time of community, joy, and connection became centered around alcohol.
And we know drunkenness rarely travels alone — it opens doors to lust, poor decisions, compromise… things people never planned on walking into.
It’s not just brunch
Now zoom out.
Birthdays
Parties
Celebrations
Weddings
For a lot of people — even some Christians — a party without alcohol isn’t considered a vibe.
Isn’t that crazy?
It’s almost like alcohol has become the thing that unlocks the fun and bonds us together. Beyond the music, it’s what people believe creates the atmosphere.
“But when did that happen?”
Even the weddings
Look at weddings today.
We’ve literally brought the club into something God intended to be sacred.
The alcohol is flowing, the hookah is out, all kinds of other things are happening — and most people don’t think twice.
And before anyone comes for me with
“But Jesus turned water into wine!”
Yes. He did.
The point isn’t whether wine existed.
The point is the heart behind it.
For many people, the part they’re most excited about isn’t even the covenant being made before God — it’s the after-party where they can dance, drink, and turn up.
Some people can’t even wait until the reception. They’re already drinking from the ceremony.
And I’m not saying this to be funny.
I’m addressing the heart behind it because it reveals a much bigger issue.
That’s how the enemy works.
Through making something so common that people stop questioning it altogether.
Then there’s the music.
And this part doesn’t get talked about enough.
A lot of the songs played at events are literally glorifying the very things God warns us about.
Songs about sexual immorality.
Songs about popping bottles (vanity).
Songs about getting high.
Songs about violence.
Songs about living however you want with zero consequences.
And we’re singing every word.
Hands in the air.
Knowing all the lyrics.
Then we mix those messages with alcohol, put people in a sexually charged environment — and act shocked when people fall into sin.
“It’s honestly not even a surprise at that point. It’s a setup.”
Music shapes atmosphere. Atmosphere shapes behavior. And when the enemy controls the playlist… he controls the room.
The average believer often doesn’t know how to have fun God’s way — because the enemy has so thoroughly corrupted the spaces of fun, celebration, and events that most people never stop to ask if there’s another way.
This is where No Mimosas comes in.
The enemy can’t create anything new.
He can only corrupt what God originally designed to be good.
We’re here to reclaim it.
To show people that holiness is beautiful.
That fun doesn’t need to come from a bottle.
That celebration doesn’t require compromise.
We’re here to prove that fun and holiness are not enemies.
That you truly need No Mimosas to have a good time.
(No pun intended.)
So… why “No Mimosas?”
Here’s the thing:
We already pray together, praise together, serve together, study together.
And that’s beautiful.
But sometimes?
We just need space to chill, eat good food, laugh hard, and enjoy each other—without compromising holiness.
A space that still glorifies God. I genuinely believe God wants us to enjoy one another—His way.
Fun, joy, laughter, community… all under His covering.
I can almost hear Him saying,
“Ohhh my children… y’all are funny.”
Okay, I digress.
If you’ve been craving a space like this—
we got you.
